Lawton Memory Care (Alzheimer's & Dementia)

Assisted living facilities have a single common misconception about them. People seem to think they are simply a new term for nursing homes. This isn’t true in the slightest. Assisted living facilities are there to assist you with the daily activities that you can’t perform anymore. If you have trouble getting yourself dressed in the morning, there will be someone to help you with that. You are free to leave whenever you want to or feel the need.

The price of living in Oklahoma isn’t that terrible either. Lawton assisted living facilities cost, on average, $32,100 annually in Lawton. This number breaks down to only $2,675 a month. This is a truly decent price for most of your living expenses so you have extra money to spend on things you enjoy.

Of course, you won’t want to be cooped up in your room all day, you will want to enjoy your golden years and have some fun. If you enjoy museums and art, you will love Lawton. The Museum of the Great Plains is one of the best museums in the area. This museum has plenty of unique collections and exhibits that spotlight the natural and cultural history of the Great Plains. The museum itself is a Red River Trading Post replica which existed in the region in the 1830’s. A lot of fascinating history is available about the area in the Museum of the Great Plains.

If you are looking for a little outdoors time, than you will be happy to know there’s plenty of that as well. Elmer Thomas lake has a boat ramp and picnic area. The lake looks fabulous and has a shore line of 8 miles, more than enough to go on a nice long walk through. Lake Lawtonka is another lake, but this one is fed by streams coming from the Wichita Mountains. With 21 miles of shoreline and a beautiful view, it’s one of the best places to spend a lazy afternoon.

Of course, you need a place to take your family when they come and visit as well. LOL (Laugh out Loud) is a family amusement center that has plenty for the younger folks to enjoy when they come to visit. There are arcade games, laser tag, play areas and even a restaurant. The little ones will be begging to visit you and come play at LOL again. The food isn’t as bad as you would think either.
