Sunnyvale Hospice Care

Helping you find the right Sunnyvale assisted living facility (ALF) is our goal. To achieve that, we’ve compiled cost of data, tips on selecting a facility, and useful info on this Silicon Valley city.

Sunnyvale’s location—sandwiched between Palo Alto and San Jose and 40 miles southeast of San Francisco—makes it an ideal spot for active retirees. The many cultures the high tech industry attracts insure the area has plenty of restaurant options. And the cultural amenities of San Francisco offer seemingly endless opportunities.

We know living in Sunnyvale can be tough on the wallet. Here are some FREE things to do in the city. The Sunnyvale Historical Museum traces the area’s founding as well as its technological, canning and agricultural past through exhibits and artifacts. WeirdStuff’s is a technology junk museum that will interest those curious about technology that never really made it. The Sunnyvale Library offers book discussion groups, dance performances and Shakespeare-Read-Along groups—just what the name implies. From Aug. thru Sept. listen to big band music at Ortega Park. It’s not quite free ($25 a year) but the Sunnyvale Senior Center provides members free drop-in programs, lectures, and movies.

Sunnyvale’s cost of living is 78% higher than the U.S. average. According to a Genworth Financial survey, a one-bedroom in a Sunnyvale assisted living facility averages $3,800 a month. A private room in a nursing home averages $9,885 month, while a semi-private averages $8,213. Both home health aides and homemaker services (cooking, cleaning, running errands) average $4,719 a month.
